Model Portfolio – Charicke and Charisa

One thing I love to shoot is Model Portfolio's and when you have such stunning young ladies as these two sisters it is hard not to get some amazing images.   Charicke and Charisa's mom booked me for their shoot and after some chatting we finally decided on what we where going to do. They wanted a broad portfolio to present to an agency so we had to do a few outfits. We took it from a casual street vive to a more formal type look right to an awesome beach/bikini shoot.   If I say these girls rocked it its an understatement! Now here is the catch....this was their very first professional photo shoot!! Have a look and tell me if you can see it was their ver first shoot, they already look like they could grace the cover of Sports Illustrated or Cosmopolitan magazine!   I hope you guys enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed shooting them. Please feel free to share with everyone.

Stilbaai Wedding – Ignatius and Anastasia

This was one very special wedding for me. Ig has been one of my very best friends for the last 9 odd years. We used to be neighbours when I was still living in Cape Town and we quickly became very good friends. We have seen each other every now and then when he is back in South Africa on holiday and we chat often. But when I saw he got engaged to Anastasia, who is from Russia, I was very happy for my friend. Soon after that he phoned me and started talking about me doing the photos for them, which was a great honour for me! To shoot a good friends special day is just awesome, simply cause you know each other so well. The wedding was very small and intimate and the total amount of people including myself, Mike my second shooter and the lady that did the video, we where just 15 people there! With it being that small it was just very special and everyone could spend time with each other. Later the afternoon we did some photos at the venue, Botterkloof and then we went down to the beach in Stilbaai as they really wanted some beach photos. To say that I am happy with the images is an understatement and I am sure they will be blown away just as much as I am. I hope you guys like the images and please feel free to share with friends and family. More images to come to my Facebook Page soon. Stilbaai Wedding

Bon Cap Wedding – Henry-John & Leana

Here we have the wedding of Henry-John and Leana. Just a week before the actual wedding we did their engagement shoot and I just saw a loving and happy couple. They had a morning wedding at the stunning Bon Cap Wine Estate outside Robertson. Bon Cap is one of my favourite venues to shoot at! Because it was a morning wedding, we decided to do the couple shoot the afternoon, after the wedding. Leana had two dresses, the one she got married in and the one she wore for the reception. Both where stunning dresses! I hope you guys enjoy the images and please feel free to share it with your friends and family! More images to be posted on my Facebook page soon.

Garden Route Landscapes

The Garden Route was one of the first places where the Europeans set foot in South Africa for the first time. And honestly I would give quite a few very important body parts to have been able to see what the land would have looked like back in that time. Today the Garden Route is a very popular holiday destination with lots of tourist attractions. I have been coming to the Garden Route since I can recall and that was from an age of about 3years old! Most holiday makes just go and see the normal touristy stuff, but to be honest, there is MANY hidden gems in the Garden Route that very few people get to see. There is some amazing landscape opportunaties in the Garden Route. From Raging swell pounding against vertical cliffs that has a sheer drop into the Indian Ocean to white sandy beaches that go on for kilometers to deep dark estuaries and indigenous forests as old as time itself. Some of these places I have photographed on a few occasions and I have been to some of these locations during fishing trips and I have often shown people an image and they would go, Where is that?? And then those people are residents in some of the Garden Route towns! Some of these places I have shot numourous times and every time I walk away with some new and better than the previous time I was there. Like the Old Pier on Diaz beach, I must have photographed it on about 10 occasions and every time I get something new. The same goes for the cliffs on the Oyster Catcher Trail. Here the cliffs plummet vertically down into the, sometimes very angry, Indian Ocean. To see a huge wave wash up 30-40 meters against a vertical wall can be quite a rush! Yet I have had a particular photo of the St Blaize Lighthouse in mind for some time now and I have never had the perfect conditions for the image I want. But that is what keeps us going back for more! The main towns along the Garden Route would be Witsand, Stilbaai, Mosselbay, George, Wildernis, Knysna, Sedgefield, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. Every single one of these destinations offers something different for the landscape photographer. From huge aloes and white beaches and the breede River Mouth at Witsand to lush subtropical indigenous forests in Knysna, forests that is still roamed by wild Elephants! So please sit back and enjoy some of the images I have managed to capture in this amazing piece of South Africa. All images are available as fine art prints on mediums such as Canvas, fine art paper and metal prints. Please email me should you want more info regarding a printed and signed image. Some images from Witsand area: Dusk as seen from the Witsand Main beach. Huge storms has washed driftwood down the Breede river and it ended up on the beach in Witsand. On the Horizon you will see the point on the opposite side of the Breede River on the Infanta side. Soft Pastel Sunset as seen from the Witsand Main beach. Shooting aloes at night along the road between Heidelberg and Witsand. We went out to shoot some milky way images with these aloes but it was clouded over, so we made the best of a bad situation. Now it almost has an eery apocalypse feel to it. An image from Stilbaai The break wall with its bright red beacon in Stilbaai. Stillbaai is the quiet seaside village in the Garden Route. It has a very small harbour. This is the small break wall that stops the big swell from causing havoc with launching boats. The Oyster Catcher trail and Cliffs in Mosselbay Golden First light hits the massive cliffs on the Oyster Catcher trail between Mosselbay and Danabay. The red sandstone lights up as if on fire. The Mansions on the Pinnacle Point Golf Estate can be seen in the distance. Golden First light hits the massive cliffs on the Oyster Catcher trail between Mosselbay and Danabay. Over looking the Ocean from the cliffs on the Oyster Catcher trail, it is quite a sight to behold. A Cove along the Oyster Catcher Trail makes for an awesome composition for a sunrise shoot. I have photographed this cove a couple of times and get something different every time. A Cove along the Oyster Catcher Trail makes for an awesome composition for a sunrise shoot. I have photographed this cove a couple of times and get something different every time. This particular morning we had some awesome low and mid level clouds that turned this lovely pink with the dawn light. The Cape St Blaize Lighthouse overlooks the point in Mosselbay. Situated on the sandstone cliffs above a natural cave used by the khoi as shelter in the early days. This is one of the last maned lighthouses on the South African coastline. The point Mosselbay   Textured storm clouds over the ocean during a sumer thunderstorm of the point in Mosselbay. Massive Thunderclouds build over the Ocean as seen from the point in Mosselbay. I had to run to get the last bit of colour on these amazing clouds. There was no time to set up for a good composition, so it is more of a record shot.  Diaz Beach Mosselbay Seal Island of Diaz beach has one of the densest populations of Great White sharks in the world. Although it is a very popular bathing beach, there has not been any major attacks. From recent studies it is shown that the Island is often frequented by juvenile sharks, but the big boys are often not far. The old Pipeline Pier on Diaz Beach. It is a very well known landmark with fisherman, but it is also one of the most awesome structures to shoot. I have shot this place about 10 different times and every time I got something new and better. Surf wash up onto the beach at Bay View in Hartenbos in the Garden Route. Hartenbos is a very popular holiday destination on that part of the coast line. Right next to the Diaz Pipeline, these poles of an old structure offers something different for the photographer The old Pipeline Pier on Diaz Beach. The cold and ominous mood really works for me here. A wave splashes over the rocks on a private beach along the Garden Route. This beach can only be access through private property. Hopefully I can get back down there in the future to capture some more of this awesome piece of earth. I found this rock on a private beach between Glentana and Haroldsbay. This rock is part of another rock that it has broken of from. I photographed it in such a manner so that it became a stand alone feature to the image. There was some good water movement and clouds going on and it just made for a great image.  Knysna     Dusk over the Outeniqua Mountains. A sliver moon hangs high in the sky as it is busy setting just after dusk. The colours on the horizon is from the setting sun and hard to believe. I did not do much editing to the colours in this image. It was just amazing! Dusk setting in over the Garden Route. This was shot from the highest peak that is accessible by vehicle, Called Spitskop. In the distance you will see the lights of Knysna starting to come on with a thick layer of fog over the ocean. The sun Kisses the hill as it starts to set in the Garden Route. This was from the top of Spitskop, the highest peak that is accessible to people in the Southern Cape Teeny Tiny Landscape. These mushrooms is about 2cm in diameter and they grown in these small nooks and crannies between the moss. These where found in the Knysna Forest and although the day did not yield anything landscape wise, this was just as cool.

Henry & Leana Worcester Engagement Shoot

This is the Engagement Shoot I did with Leana and Henry-John just two days before their wedding! Engagement Shoots is a very important thing to do, especially if you and your partner is not used to being in front of the camera. It also helps us as photographers to see what we can and cant do with you as our subject. Often on the wedding day there just isnt time to first get cozy infront of the camera, doing an engagement shoot with your wedding photographer really helps this, as you will know what to expect on your big day. So sit back and enjoy some of their images from their shoot. Please feel free to share.

Kliplapa Wedding – Johan & Angela

This is the wedding of Johan and Angela. What a lovely couple, they have been together for quite some time already and that meant that everything was just perfect. No stres, everyone knew everyone and all was just festive. To say that the party was a PARTY would also be an understatement LOL, it was huge and Johan was not scared to show off his awesome dance moves! The wedding was held at Kliplapa outside Robertson. Please feel free to share this with all your friends and family and please keep a look out for the full album on my Facebook page.
